Dorothy Tomsick

Dorothy Tomsick, 84, passed away December 23, 2012 in Pueblo, CO. She was born December 28, 1927 in Monroe, Michigan to Oscar and Josephine Drodt. She was raised in Wetmore, CO and later moved to Pueblo to attend Pueblo Centennial HS. Upon graduation she worked for Mountain Bell as a telephone operator until she married Charles Tomsick in 1947. After raising two children, she worked as Assistant Custer County Assessor for Bill Kleine for four years until his death, when she took over as Custer County Assessor. She retired in 1990 after 16 years of service. Dorothy and Charles were married 65 years. Dorothy is survived by her husband, Charles; two children, David Tomsick (wife Leanne) of Franktown, CO and Gary Tomsick of Pueblo; and two grandchildren, Carey Burden (husband Rob) of Houston, TX and Jeremy Tomsick (wife Alicia) of Canon City. She is also survived by one great grandchild, Chandler; and a sister, Marion Cowley (husband Denzel Savage) of Pueblo. Visitation will be from 10:00 till 11:00 a.m., prior to Funeral Services at 11:00 a.m., Friday, December 28, 2012 at the Holt Chapel of the Garden at 806 Macon Avenue in Canon City, CO. Interment will follow at Lakeside Cemetery in Canon City. Memorial donations may be made to Frontier Hospice at 503 N. Main, Suite 103W, Pueblo, CO 81003.
