Lifetime Rifle resident, David M. Johnson, 74, entered into rest on September 3, 2014. Dave was born to Luther and Leone Johnson on May 17, 1940 in Rifle, Colorado. He married Anna Ruth Williams on January 1, 1959 at the Rifle Christian Church. Dave started working construction with his dad as a youth. He took over Johnson Construction in 1967. He passed down his legacy in 2007, while continuing to do what he loved. Dave was a charter member of Rocky Mountain Baptist Church. He touched many lives of family and friends as a pillar of the community. Dave is survived by his wife, Anna Johnson; his son, David L. Johnson; daughters, Brenda (Kim) Brand, and Christene M. Johnson; a brother, Steven (Nancy) Johnson, and a sister-in-law, Regina Johnson; 6 grandchildren, Michael W. (Jacquelyn) Johnson, BJ Cassidy (Jessica) Johnson, Ky (Melissa) Johnson, Britni Johnson, Aubrey Hunter, and Hannah Johnson, and eight great-grandchildren. Dave was preceded in death by his brother, Martin L. Johnson, as well as his father, Luther Lee Johnson. Visitation and viewing will take place on Tuesday, September 9, 2014 at 10:00 am at the Rifle Funeral Home. A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, September 10,, 2014 at 10:00 am at the Clough Auditorium in CMC Rifle Campus with Pastor Jim Sheets officiating. Burial will take place at the Rose Hill Cemetery in Rifle, followed by a reception at Eagle Spring Farm Fresh Café in North Rifle. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Alpine Bank with funds being donated to Wounded Warrior.
